Jim, proprietor of Sedgwick Business Solutions, found the love of accounting while attending Curwensville Area High School. Upon graduating in 1991, he joined the US Air Force, serving over five years in the accounting and finance field. After leaving the Air Force, he worked in B2B sales and retail management for more than ten years.  During this time, he learned aspects of everyday business, allowing him to see the joys and challenges that small business owners face.

He attended DuBois Business College, completing his business/accounting degree in 2010, and started working as the general manager of a national restaurant chain and then with a third-party payroll service, managing the company’s bookkeeping and their client’s bookkeeping needs.  In 2013, Jim started James Sedgwick Bookkeeping Services and grew his company while maintaining full-time employment.  In 2016, Jim moved on to focus his efforts on his growing business.  As services were added to meet his clients needs, Jim changed the company’s name in May of 2018 to Sedgwick Business Solutions to be more in line with the variety of administrative services being offered.

He married his wife, Sarah, in September 2015. Sarah is the pastor of the Lewistown Presbyterian Church and co-founder of The Soul Platter Café in DuBois, PA.

Being community-minded, Jim and Sarah serve on multiple boards and committees in DuBois and surrounding areas.
